The Art of Drag Seminar resources

The Art of drag seminar was held on September 27th 2025 at Oslo Metropolitan University and the cultural arena, SALT Art & Music. The seminar consisted of three parts, the seminar itself, a panel discussion and a drags show. Following, you will find information about this seminar, se pictures and links to some of the video materials. In addition, the students from the course Drag in society have written summaries from the seminar lectures, and the students from Aesthetic Learning in Primary Education: Drama, Puppetry and Creative Processes, they carried out reflection sessions during the seminar and wrote summaries of them.

  • Video: Panel dicussion

    As a bridge between the academic seminar and the drag show as a practical example, a panel discussion was held at SALT Art & Music.
    The panelists were Petter Wallenberg and Jan Ericson from Bland Drakar och Drag Queens, and Daniel Vals and Lady Francesca from Drag Syndrome. The discussion was moderated by Remi Johansen Hovda.

    The conversation mainly revolved around drag and the resistance faced by drag artists, explored through the panelists’ own experiences and perspectives.
